We have been plugging along with our daily routine of school and normal life. My cousin got married in January at Black Butte in Sisters and we were able to rent a huge house with 5 families. It was so much fun!!! And also we had Quades Birthday and we poured the floor in Jordan's shop.
Austyn is still enjoying homeschooling. Although the new excitement of it has worn off for all of us I think. We have whittled it down to a little under 2 hours a day. Which is incredible!!! Austyn has a friend come over every Tuesday while her mom works and looks forward to that every week. But she is missing the rest of her friends and the social aspects of school. We will be starting our camping season soon, so that might help a bit for socializing with other kids a bit.
Quade is still loving school. He really enjoys history. His reading has come along really well this year. He is quite as social as Austyn and doesn't require as much friend time. But I do try to work in some play dates a couple times a month. No sports in sight yet, so it will be camping and riding quads and motorcycles around here. He is looking forward to summer when he can swim and fish again in the river.
Jordan just poured the floor to his shop. It turned out amazing as always. We are so thankful for the crew that comes and helps out. It's hard work and not very fun, but they seem to keep coming back for more. He is pretty pumped to get the lighting up and the wall up for his shop portion of the building. It will be so nice for him to finally have some space to work on stuff.
Nothing new with me, my cows are doing good. We just weaned the calves and locked the cows up for the winter so the pasture can start growing. I have one cow that will be calving in Aprilish we think. We are getting really excited about it. One extremely sad event happened last month. Andi bit a boy in the face and we had to put her down. It was one of the hardest things I think I've had to do. She had begun to get more and more aggressive over the years and we just couldn't take the risk of her doing it again or possibly disfiguring someone if she were to bite again. And she would have for sure continued to bite. I was really really upset for quite awhile but time heals most things and we are all much better now.
Hope you all are doing well. We can't wait for some warm dry weather so we can get outside and play!!
