Is It Summer Yet .....

T-ball season was a success. It flew by so fast I can hardly believe it's over already. I had a great time coaching for my first time. And plan on coaching Quades team next year. And Austyn did amazing. She is so much fun to watch. And best of all she really enjoys it. Quade was a key player on our team this season too. He was our official Bat Boy! He took his job very seriously and really paid attention for only being 4. We will now move onto summer time swim lessons at the JC pool and Scandinavian Dancing in a few weeks. Quade has decided to be a Viking this year during the dances, instead of a sweet little Scandinavian boy. Much more fitting in my opinion and even better is I get to make up his costume! I guess since there are so many performances during the festival he could be both.
Austyn will have her Outdoor School in a week. Her school rents out Camp Lutherwood for a whole week and it's a different theme every year. This year it is going to be tailored to how living was 100 years ago. I am going to be helping in Austyn's clan and Quade gets to also come and act like a Kindergartner for he week. He is so lucky to be able to get to do the things he's done with Austyn's class.
We had our annual Memorial Day camping trip!! This year there was a slight spin on the trip due to the ungodly amount of water on the dunes. Our reservations were cancelled because the road to get to our camping spot was flooded by 3-4 feet of water. NO JOKE! We went a checked thinking the Forest Service was exaggerating. They were having to boat supplies into the camp hosts stuck on the other side. We were able to get the last spot in Winchester Bay and it turned out perfectly. The weather couldn't have been better and although it was about 1 1/2 miles out on the sand we were pretty much by ourselves the whole weekend (just like we like it). The usual Memorial Day crowd came together and we all had a blast. The kids played and dug in the sand ALL day. Our usual once a month camping trips during the summer will have to be called off due to Jordan ramping his studying back up for his upcoming promotional test in November. But we do have a 2 or 3 more camp trips this summer to look forward to. And don't forget the backyard tent camping every night in the summer. We are all (except Jordan) looking forward to the new tent we got for Christmas!!!!! Our maiden voyage in the new trailer was amazing. We loved everything about it and it worked so perfectly for us. Minus the blow out we had on the way over, but other than that it was perfect. So glad we decided to move up in the world and have our own trailer.
Jordan has been continuing to work on his project truck. He hit a slight snag and it set him back a bit, but he continues to amaze me and pushes forward. It looks amazing and the talent and know how he has is incredible. I can finally see how it's going to look when it's done, so I'm getting excited for the end product. He works so hard on it, I just wish he had more time to get it finished. Like I said he will be starting his studies back up soon. Which is a total bummer for all of us. But I know he will do great.
Austyn has 13 days left of school!!!!!!! As usual I'm so much more excited about summer break than most of the kids and most of the parents. The kids have already been in the river. It didn't last too long, but they did it. It's so strange to think that Austyn is going to be in First grade and Quade will be in Preschool. I'm very thankful and blessed I am able to be so involved with them and able to stay home and be there for them. We got our little garden planted and all of my flowers. Austyn picked purple and white flowers this year. I can't wait for them to get to blooming. The kids picked out the garden plants they wanted. I told them they could only plant what they were going to eat. Austyn chose tomatoes and beans. And Quade chose cucumbers and cornflowers (cauliflower). But I couldn't find any cauliflower so we settled on a watermelon. Each kid has their own bale they planted in and I planted my own with zucchini. They have been so excited about their own gardens and have really stuck with the watering and checking on them. Hay season started a couple days ago! It's another one of the things the kids and I look forward to every year. They already have so many memories and traditions from year to year. I absolutely love watching them make those memories.

We got to go to the Bandon Zoo for Mothers Day.
We had so much fun and the weather was amazing.

This was at Austyn's school. They have a Track and Field
Day every year. It is so cute and so much fun to watch.

The kids got a ribbon for each event they completed.

Next was Austyn's Barn Raising. We donated all
the hay bales for seating. Super cute event!!All the kids dressed
up in the western clothes and had a blast.

 Quade was making sand angels.
Austyn got stuck in the water and was so scared it was
going to be quick sand and swallow her up.

Memorial Day Camping 2017

The kids thought since it was sunny outside it was time
to go to the river and swim. It was short lived, but they had fun.
We stopped by on our way home from school and were suppose to only
wade. But one thing led to another and they decided to swim.
These long summer days are taking its toll on the kids already.
