February to May . . .

As usual it's been awhile since my last post. And as usual A LOT has been happening. Since my last post we finished all the metal on the shop and the trim. It looks amazing and the funny part is is that we had it filled before it was even finished. It has a ways to go before being completely done, but that will have to wait for more time and money. Jordan still needs to make three of the bays into his shop which will be all concrete and a wall put up to section it off from the rest of the building. And doors and lights on the whole thing. Someday!! It certainly is nice to have all of our rigs and trailers at home where we can just walk out and use them.

We got to take the kids skiing for the first time this year. It was an absolute blast and the weather couldn't have been better. We were skiing in sweatshirts, could have been a T-shirt if we were willing to risk the bare skin. The kids caught on extremely quick and it came back to me super fast too. It had been 15+ years since Jordan and I had been. It will definitely be something we will do again next year. Hopefully a few times.

Austyn got a new quad for our Spring Break camping trip. Which was cancelled for the COVID-19 stuff, like three days after we got her her new quad. So she has been enjoying it at home and loves it so much. She is such a great rider. Can't wait to take her to the coast to try it out there too.

Here she is in her bathing suit and rubber boots
riding her new quad.

From here on is from our COVID lifestyle. But fortunately for us, our lifestyle has really not changed at all. If anything it has gotten better. With all the closures and cancellations of things Jordan has been home substantially more. The kids and I have never experienced him home this much and not have his extra curricular activities that he usually has. No meetings, classes, training, over time, drill, or side jobs. It's been the highlight of our lives!!!!!!! It will be REALLY hard when things go back to normal and it takes him away again. But as for the kids and I, we only went to school and the grocery store, and the occasional school activity. The kids are liking not going to school as am I. The distance learning was rough for Austyn and I the first two weeks and then we switched to paper packets instead of the online version and it made things 100% better. We all are pretty bummed about no softball and baseball this year and that some of our camping trips have been cancelled. But we know how fortunate we are to not be effected by this any other way. With Jordan being home more we have been able to conquer some projects that have been sitting on the back burner waiting for extra time. It's been awesome getting to all those. So here are all our COVID activities:

As always the pictures get all mixed up when I download them. So they aren't in order.
Our Cinco de Mayo dinner

Mother's Day at the beach

Siding the barn with the left over metal
from the shop. It looks so nice!

Found myself a little heifer

The kids did some sidewalk art for GG
while I was mowing one day

St. Patrick's Day feast. Green pancakes, green scrambled
eggs, and sausage

Jordan split his head open while he was building
shelves in the pump house (another COVID project).

Whittling while we worked on the barn siding.

Jordan and Quade made a sand fortress at the beach on Mother's Day

We burned all the dead blackberry vines along
the river bank as one of our first COVID projects. It looks so
much cleaner.

Mother's Day

Easter rice crispy treats

My new niece was born. Marly JOLENE!!!!!

Homeschool detention activity.

We moved Mom and Dad's steer over to
our place. We are LOVING it!!

Mimi and sissy

Coloring Easter eggs

Easter basket goodies.

First swim of the season!!!

Finn going in for the big snip snip.

Another COVID project

COVID haircut. He wanted a mohawk and
a mohawk is what he got. So far Austyn is the
only one that hasn't gotten a at home haircut.

Mother's Day dinner at MO's. We ordered it and then
ate it on the boardwalk. Memories were made!

Cinco de Mayo

First fish of the season

We did a huge trim from our place to Mom and Dad's.
Every low branch got cut. It was a huge project. But we
have such a great team that it went perfectly.

Quade driving the Ranger building fence for
the steers to come over.

Another bull calf to work.

More Cinco de Mayo

another shot of his mohawk

St. Patrick's Day

Beginning of our huge trim project.

The kids and I decided to make masks. It was such
a fun and memorable experience. So far we've made 26,
I think. Maybe more.

Here's his first fish for the year. He loves fishing.

Marly Jolene

Austyn got a new headboard.

St. Patrick's outfits.

St. Patrick's hash browns

Close up view of Jordan's head after I stapled
it. Good thing for my surgical tech days. And
all the tools that somehow made it home with me.

Leaving the eggs for the Easter Bunny

Science experiments we now have time for.

Finished products of the Easter eggs.

My Mother's Day flowers

Family swim after a long hot days work

Austyn made me a wonderful Mother's Day
cake all by herself. It was delicious. And she
had the whole day planned out.

Isn't she the prettiest

Another one from burins the banks

We got this really cool puzzle from our Aunt in
the mail.

Backyard BBQing

Austyn's COVID mask

This dog! He is so sweet and willing to do anything

Couldn't help themselves. They had to test
out the water as we were burning the banks.

Taking a break from trimming trees

My Mother's Day breakfast! Blue pancakes with sprinkles

The first round of masks.

Another really cool volcano experiment

Kids playing while we were trimming trees.

Check out that straw. Both kids got one from
Aunt Deb for Easter.

Country Kids. Gotta love it.

Mimi and Quade on Mother's Day

Cinco de Mayo

Another big project we've completed was putting rock
around all the concrete and trees. It looks amazing. I love it.

Rock

Mother's Day dinner. Quade thought we looked like homeless
people.

Here we are stapling Jordan up. Quade was
so into it and Austyn was a little squeamish.

That's it for us. Hope all is well with everyone and you're all hanging in there through this COVID crap. It's just such a crazy thing to experience. I keep telling the kids that in a way we are blessed (not sure that's the right word. Maybe more like luck? Not even sure that's the correct word either) to be experiencing this. Sorry for the out of order pictures.
