Fall Fun...

Trying to keep up on blogging a little bit better. Here are some of the things that we've been up to for the last couple months.

The kids are in a bookclub with their great Aunt in
Alaska. Every other Sunday she Facetimes them and
they talk about the books their reading together. It
is so neat and they are always looking forward to their chats.

Look how big Finn has gotten. He is a year old now! Such a
good puppy.

Here the boys are Elk hunting. Jordan got a nice
spike this year. Can't wait for the pepperoni.

How adorable is this?! The kids have gotten big enough to help
us blow leaves. They still think it's fun.

We took the kids to Wildlife Safari a few weeks ago.
It was so much fun. It was the most active we had ever
seen the animals.

We got more cows!! 2 more cow calf pairs. These new ones
are Red Angus and as friendly as they could be.

Pumplin patch time. The kids picked out the biggest pumpkins in
the field this year.

Quade was able to play a little football this fall. Just 4 one hour sessions.
But better than nothing. Here is their team picture. Total 2020 style.

I found these cool ear tags online. I engraved each
cows name and birthdate on them.

Bowling on Mimication

Here's little Clarabelle. She's the baby. Look
how adorable she is.

So we switched to homeschooling after 3 weeks of trying the
distant learning. It was a complete joke. 3 hours of the kids
sitting in front of a computer and they hadn't even started any
curriculum learning yet. So I made the switch and the kids and I
are so happy with the change. It's amazing!!

The kids creations for this year.

More of the homeschool books.

A little target practice. He shot his first nutria the other night.
It was really cool to see the excitement on his face.

This giraffe was eating out our trailer as we drove through Wildlife Safari.
We had gotten some hog fuel for the barnyard.

More of my sweet little calves. June and Chuck

Halloween cookies that they decorated.

Pumpkin sling shots at the pumpkin patch.

Even Quade is big enough.

Newport Sealions

The kids built Halloween haunted houses while we were on
Mimication.

So curious

More bowling

We spent two nights at Mimication this year while the
boys were Elk hunting. The kids spent 4 hours a day swimming.

Mimication 2020

This is the rhino at Wildlife Safari. This guy was REALLY agitated that we
were there. He pretty much chased up out of his area. Super exciting. We
all thought it was pretty cool except Jordan.

My two sweet little Zombies. They both dressed up together this
year and wanted me to make their costumes. I loved it. They turned out
so good. Next year they agreed to be pirates.

Jordan taking the kids deer hunting.

Pooped out kids after swimming so much on Mimication.

Hamburger patties after we butchered the steers. Team work
makes the dream work!

Quade is our little fire starter this year. He does
an amazing job

Beauty of homeschool is that we can take it with us
and not have to worry about missing school!!!

Again sorry the pictures are so out of order. Kind of makes it hard to follow.

Quade loved being able to do some sort of football this year. Even though it was super short it was better than nothing. He loves being homeschooled rather than the distant learning we were doing. And he is now counting down the days until Christmas.

Austyn is starting Volleyball this weekend and is super excited about it. It has been a rollercoaster with trying to find a team to sign up for, then getting cancelled, then delay, but finally she gets to play!! She is also really liking homeschool.

Jordan is getting to start some "winter" projects now. I'm not sure what classifies them as "winter" though. His work is still a little off with all the COVID stuff and new guidelines and regulations that they have to follow. He has to wear a mask during his whole shift now even in the station. Which is a total bummer for him. But as always he has a good attitude about it because it's nothing he has control over.

I am totally in love with homeschooling the kids. It is the best decision I made and it has been the most rewarding thing I think I've done. I can see so much progress in each of the kids. It's just amazing. I will have a VERY hard time sending them back next year. We have all settled into a good routine with school now and trying to find COVID friendly activities. But overall we are all tired of it just like everyone else is. Luckily the kids get to go to a family friend on Wednesdays to learn Language Arts and do art projects. It is really nice to break up the week and have someone else besides me teaching them things. And also once a week we have Austyn's best friend come over while her mom works. Gives the kids something to look forward to and someone else to play with.

Hope everyone is doing well. And getting ready for the Holiday season!!!!!!!!!
