Austyn's 7th Birthday . . .

I can't believe Austyn is 7 years old already. She is loving everything about growing up. She is in First Grade this year and gets her own desk, and her own school supplies that she doesn't have to share. She is loving school especially the social aspect of it. She gets that from Jordan. And she prides herself on her behavior in school. She is very focused and detail oriented.
Austyn is playing soccer this year. Even though she doesn't like the running that's involved in soccer, the snack enticed her to play. She gets that from me. HA HA HA! Her skills have improved since the last time she played so I'm thinking she feels a little more confident this year. It is so much fun to watch her. I am able to be her coach this year and I love it. I love seeing the pride she gets when she does something good or accomplishes a goal she's set for herself. Makes it all worth it. Her favorite sport is coming up after soccer. She thoroughly enjoyed volleyball last year and has been waiting for it all year long. She is so excited to play. We got her knee pads for her Birthday and she really got excited then.
She continues to surprise me with the kindness she possesses. Her heart is so big. She loves to make people proud of her and to do nice things for them. And her honesty has become a trait I can always count on. I'm blown away that at 7 years old she can be so adult like in her morals. And the reasons she gives for things is outstanding. I'm so proud of her in every way. I love that she is her own person and doesn't really fall victim to peer pressure either. I always tell the kids that it's most important to be honest and kind and she definitely gets and A+ in that category. She is just so pure and innocent, I hope she can continue that for years and years.
Austyn surprised us all with her ability and enjoyment that comes from riding Quade's dirt bike. She climbed on the first day we got it and took off like she had been doing it for years. She always wants to ride when Quade does and she has even been riding my Dads bigger dirt bike lately. Of course her riding speed is a bit more cautious than Quade's is, but who would have thought she would like riding dirt bikes.
She still really enjoys swimming. She can swim without a lifejacket now and loves the freedom that it brings. We will be doing swim lessons again this winter. She really likes that. It gives us something to do in the evenings and we usually get to eat dinner out. Another thing she gets from me!
As she gets older, her curiosity of all things girly has become pretty strong. Make-up, hair stuff, clothes, perfume, shoes, and a sprinkle of girl drama has all sky rocketed in the last year. I do wear make-up and do my hair occasionally, so my skill set in this department is extremely lacking. I just, at 31, got my first ever tube of foundation (to cover up some wrinkles). So her interest is kind of unappealing to me. But I will do my best or steer her to the right person that can show her how to do those things.
For her Birthday this year she requested a friends only party. She really wanted to go to the gymnastics place because the Birthday kid gets to play on a special swing there. And as usual her door got decorated and she got a special Birthday breakfast of her choice. For dinner, my Aunt gave her an abelsciver dinner which was her favorite part of the day. She was showered with gifts ALL day long and really enjoyed getting packages in the mail. She and I made her cake this year. She wanted an all pink party. So all pink is what she got! Austyn loves baking. She did every single thing but separated the eggs whites and take it out of the oven. She instructed me on how to decorate the cake too. It was so much fun making it with her. I hope it's a new tradition we have for her Birthdays.

Austyn puts the sweetness in our family for sure. She makes my heart so happy and proud to be her Mom. My hopes and dreams for her is to find something that makes her truly happy. And to continue being Honest and Kind. And hopefully we will have the relationship that my Mom and I have. Happy Birthday Austyn we all love you.
